Unadorned Heartbreak

by Pauly D.   Jun 24, 2006

The memories flash with vibrant shine,

The air stands still with what was mine.

Shellshocked trauma brings me low,

Down the depths, nowhere to go.

Once alluring traits gone bad,

Lost, forgotten, now so sad.

Reminiscing becomes the norm,

As life flies by, into the storm.

Tortured souls gone far and wide,

Miserable visions unrectified.

Blistering, crumbling, eroding mirth,

It's fallen low, into the Earth.

Desirous yearning bears no fruit,

It's all in ruins, all I knew.

Lies, truth, we're all deceived

While hopeful dreams show what to be.

Silent words can't do the job,

When we try to be what we're not.

My heart is left in disarray

As it searches, scans, to find a way.

What is right, can't always be

When we run and hide from reality.

But one day soon, when the clouds are dark

When the stroll through hell, turns into the park,

You'll see the light, the radiant path,

You'll see what's just, you'll cry and gasp.

It all went wrong, you turned from truth,

But all is well when you start anew...
