The Fallacy

by Pauly D.   Jun 29, 2006

The sky is bleak with sweeping winds,

That turn turn the tide from blue to gray

Degradation blots the land,

Mars the sun, blocks the way

Faith has slipped to a wavering call

That fails to reach a peak

Sleepless nights crush it all

And turn me sour and meek.

But dire straights crawl through fruitless times

Without a glare of hope to drive

The will is there to push you through

But no source found to tell you why.

Gone are fields with lush, bright shine,

Gone are days with promising views

Instead it's real, the tenebrous truth

The waning zeal, the dwindling hues.

Cancerous woes are cut right out,

The source of danger smote 'till death

But when all is done in wistful shame

Without reason to justify the game

Truth knocks hard, shocks you true,

Lights up the fallacy you thought you knew.
