Bittersweet Reality

So emotional and surging, that u could feel your
stomach acids eating the lining from your stomach;
So moved, you felt like your throat was swelling
and disabling any vocalization whatsoever;
So scared and cold, you could feel the hair on your arms raising
and prickling, and even the meager warmth they were producing;
So intense, your skin felt edgy and like you could never close your
eyes, like a torturous pain would envelop you if you did;
So heart-wrenching, you could feel every beating of your heart
reverberating through your chest and at your wrists;
So vividly thoughtful, you felt as though your brain rip right through
your skull as it beat against it with the current pounding sensation;
So confused, your limbs felt so heavy that you felt as though
gravity was beginning to increase, slowly pulling you downward;

this is what it was like in my shoes when I first met you,
when your eyes crossed the vacant hallway in perfect hue,

a glance that cut me like a laser : right through to my heart,
vulnerable as I looked into that stare that pierced like a dart,

I want your kiss to brush my lips in a soft perfection but I cannot,
the thought is vulgar and rips through my heart yet distraught,

you are but my bittersweet reality held by the most gorgeous eyes,
left in shadow of contempt and abandoned defenses of lies...
