My baby boy

You were born on a cool summers night...July 4th 2000
As I held you in my arms it brought tears to my eyes
Look at this life I created
I promised to give you everything that you need in life
But I broke that promise to you
My baby boy
I have taught you everything I know in life and gave you nothing.
Mother material I am not
Depriving you of everything I was denied as a child.
It hurts not to be able to kiss or hug you.
So I gave you away
May 11th 2003, I gave you to a family that can and will give you everything that you need in life.
My baby boy
Oh how it hurts to hear you call them mommy and daddy
Too miss out on so much in your life.
How I regret that day
I would sell my soul to get you back.
But you are happy and I am not one to interfere on happiness
Just remember my baby boy that mommy loves you.
Maybe one day when you are older
You will understand why I did what I did to you.
And if I am lucky you will love me too.
You will still want that bond between mother and son as I do now.
My baby boy I LOVE YOU!

    Amanda, that made me cry..your poem is very touching. i Gave it a 5. You know amanda...Everything in this world happens for a reason, and Im sure it was for the best. Always keep in touch with him, let him know that your around eventhough you couldnt keep him. And dont ever give up, You'll see that at the end, when he gets older He will understand and love you just as much as you do. hang in there and take care of yourself. *Erika*
