It's Murder...

by Lauren Waszkiewicz   Jun 27, 2006

Its Murder..

Its Murder..

When you go to work each and every day
Do you listen for their painful cries?
Do you hear the silent screams they make,
Every time a little baby dies?

When you kill those innocent children,
Do you consider their perfect souls?
Do you wonder what they could've done,
If they had a chance to reach their goals?

You say that they're only flesh,
Simply muscle, skin and bone.
But they could have become someone,
If they had been given the chance to grow.

Remember that one you killed today?
He could've been the new pope.
He could've changed the way the world works.
But thats something we'll never know.

That little boy could have found the cure,
To cancer, AIDS or some more.
He could have saved a million lives,
He could have ended nuclear war.

When you stop their hearts from beating
Do you think of what you've done?
Its just as though you've shot a child,
With a legal machine gun.

Before you kill those innocent kids.
Think of how you're such a fool
The government's tricked you into thinking
That this murder isn't cruel....

I have to say i dont /totally/ agree with this poem any more, but i still love this poem so i'm not changing it.

Its sad, but that is mostly true. Nice job. I think about the points you made in that poem quite often and it makes me kind of mad. 5/5 overall. Keep it up.
The flow was good and the meaning was powerful. Keep it up.
