For Fear of Falling

by Kristin Smith   Jun 30, 2006

A long and winding road lies stretched out before me .
The end of this path remains unknown, for life is not a destination,
but rather a journey.
It twists,
and turns,
and winds,
and curves,
always flowing with the rhythm of day,
Each fleeting moment brings new hope,
or threatens to take it away.
The seconds pass like rain from the sky ,
pages turn,
and days go by.
But one thing never changes, with beauty it remains.
The strength I've found in you just cannot be explained.

Through the loneliest days, you fill my night.
through the stormy times,
you hold me tight.
in all of our many happy moments, you share in the rejoice.
when no words seem to come, it is you who is my voice.
you are the reason for the smile on my face,
you are the fuel for the light in my eyes.
you are the reason i could never walk away,
you are the star that hangs in my sky.
you are the cause for this beat in my heart,
you find the light when all i see is dark.
you lift me up to the place where i belong,
you sing the words when i've forgotten my life's song.
you lead me back to the path when i am lost,
and you taught me to chase my dreams no matter what the cost.
you have helped me to become strong, and grow inside ...
and yet you are unaware of this secret that i hide.

i am still weak, and i forget how to believe, but still i push through; anything for you.
you are the reason that i let my gate down,
you are the reason that my fears never make a sound,
you are the reason that i have already let my heart know,
that someday you will move on,
someday you will let go.
and you are the reason for this crumble in my wall,
i only wish that you would still be there to catch me when i fall.
