Your.smile.fades.in.the.summer.

&& it's the words that aren't there,
rather than what's said,
that make these new thoughts
race through my head.

it's the questions that are asked,
and the things people say,
that make me wonder
if my life needs a change.

so here's to something new,
here's to something fun,
here's to letting it all go,
and forgetting what you've done.

i think for a change,
i'll do what i said.
i'll make up my mind
not a tear will be shed.
my words will become real,
the thoughts you will soon feel,
i'll do what seems fit
in all others eyes.
i'll end the excuses
&& stop telling myself lies.

it needs to be over,
it needs to be done.
&& in the old place,
a new star shall be hung.
and someday i'll look
into the starry moonlit sky,
and think of those memories
that time can't deny.
when i was simply yours
and belonged to no other,
but fate fell short this time ...
your smile fades in the summer.
