Grandmother Clock

by Flying Phoenix   Jun 30, 2006

The grandmother clock
Beside the crumbling wall
Continuously ticks
Tick tock
She waits and watches
The world pass by
Day after day
Tick tock
In the mysterious midnight hour
Where those not living stalk
She watches
Tick tock
But then, alas
The clock did wind low
As the winters wind did blow
Silence
No tick is heard
No tock can be perceived
The howling storms
And freezing nights
The clocks last time
Tick
Tick
Tick
Tick tock
