I am..

by Christie   Jul 1, 2006

I am the daughter,
That day after day,
Has many words in her heart,
Yet nothing to say.

I am the student,
That hides all her tears,
She has a smile,
Yet so many fears.

I am the girlfriend,
With pain in her heart,
A twisting ache,
When we're apart.

I am the sister,
With incredible disgrace,
A nastiness,
That love should have replaced.

But I am me,
When all are not there,
Left crushed and broken,
Succumb to despair.

So I sit here wondering,
Why life is so tough,
When everything will be better,
And just being me will be enough.
