School through the Principal's Eyes 13/15

by Ashleigh Skye   Jul 2, 2006

Punishing these children,
for each and every mistake,
no leeway in the rule book,
for I'm the big fish in this lake.

Ruling with an iron fist,
teardrops a daily sight,
battling each child one-on-one,
never losing the fight.

Keeping them straight with fear,
to terrified to rebel,
even the teachers jump at command,
from a glance not even a yell.

The students see me as a monster,
and the staff think I'm to cruel,
refusing to break or even bend,
the smallest of the rules.

This tough front that I show,
is a mask for what I hide,
continually wearing my business suits,
setting my emotions aside.

When I get home I become the victim,
attacked, my pride in the dirt,
left alone to nurse these wounds,
caused by the devil in a pink skirt.

I'm then left emotionally and verbally slain,
an angry shell of a man,
determined to regain some sort of power,
by attacking those of my command.

No one knows why I'm so angry,
no one knows it numbs my pain,
walking down these barren halls,
my life swirling down the drain.

Wow, I loved it! It makes me think...about how you never know why someone is the way they are...

They could be terrible - just like this man - because of what goes on at home.

A good concept, and a good job manipulating the emotion within the concept!
