The Man In The Moon

Tonight I search for solace
Through the eyes of the stars
The answer to my prayers
That ends with a knife

Shining like the water
Pouring from my eyes
Does God see us all
From the stars in the skies?

Or an illusion
Enveloped by shadows
One too many
Pain subsides and tears overflow

My heart falls from my sleeve
I'll lock it away
I'll grab my keys
And run for the door

Scared of myself
My past
What i represent
The monster I've become

Will i find where i belong?
I'm too clumsy
Slip and fall
I won't get up next time

I stare up high
And speak to my only friend
The one who listens but never hears
The man in the moon whom i hold so dear
