One Little Word

by Jamie Lee   Jul 3, 2006

As the little moments that make up our life
Change from one to the next
It's funny how one little word
Can change our day from the worst to the best

We watch ourselves drive by in the other lane
Confused by why we're over there
Life moves at different speeds for everyone
Some don't know why they're going, let alone where

Fight back the tears that stain your soul
Find the words that are buried in your heart
Before the silence consumes us all
And begins to tear you apart

You stand alone in your closed off corner
Excitement and dread fill you
You know what needs to be done
You know you should, but will you

Does it bother you that for everything you do
Someone does it better
Stripped of pride and self esteem
You find yourself in an ever lasting never

Frozen in fear, all you can do is wait
And watch as your life passes by blind
Waiting to hear that one little word
To make these little moments worth your time
