There Goes My Favorite Distraction

by put the [boom boom] into my heart   Jul 3, 2006

My tears
Like acid rain
Leave imprints of pain on my cheeks
And hollow out my baby blues

Look between my tear-eaten cheeks
Eyes full of empty contentment
And tell me you don't see yourself

Read my eulogy to a dying crowd
I live to please all audiences
All this inspiration you're offering
Is killing me with my eyes open

This lack of conversation
Is finally getting to me

The prognosis looks grim
For the combination of
You plus me
What we have is fatal

There are things I never told you
Just because
"I didn't feel like it"

Our chardonnay romance is far past over
