Pope John Paul II

by ally   Jul 3, 2006

Pope John Paul the Second;
Reigned for almost 27 years,
In April of 2005,
There were many tears.

Known throughout the world,
On the day he died,
He was a great man,
While many people cried.

Born in Poland,
May 18th, 1920
Still then and forever,
He is mourned by plenty.

Who people look up to,
A man of great nobility,
Although deceased;
Carried great responsibility.

The role of a pope;
A leader in many eyes,
For the Catholic religion
He told no lies.

This pope was like no other pope,
He preached to his nation
The ways of God
And visited many locations

The Catholic religion:
Opposing gay marriage;
Abortion, divorce,
Is what he disparaged.

In European culture,
There lies many of great,
People who are heros,
Still to this date.
