Mask of Joy

by Flying Phoenix   Jul 4, 2006

The laughing explosion of joy
That everyone sees from that girl over there
Makes them think she's recovered
Her heart has been repaired
But nobody realises
That that wound is still sore
Those cuts were much deeper
Than anyone thought
Oh she's had enough time
She'll move on now and smile
But behind that painted face
Lies a soul so fragile
Her heart is mending
But very slowly you see
No one does
No one can see
That behind that mask of joy
Is a terrible wreck of me

Okay that sounds just not really that great towards the end but it has this emotional quality that makes up for it. Has some strong imagery words that caught my attention and loved the beginning. Really strong there. Um...well not sure what else to say except that it depends on how it's based as a poem. Emotional level it's great otherwise it didn't really seem that great on the other side to me. So I'll judge on the emotional element.
