Time

by Ebony Morgan   Feb 26, 2004

The days roll by, one by one.
Never ending, never slowing.
Not for the children with no homes,
not for the adults fired from their jobs.
Nor for the people laying in hospital beds
or for the people living in agony.
Time doesn't stop for the rich, the poor,
the second class, first class, third class.
The days roll by taking lives, taking dreams.
Time doesn't stop, it just keeps ticking. Taking lives taking dreams, accomplishing nothing.
People live, people die.
Time makes people, takes people, breaks people.
Hearts get broken, lives taken.
All because of time.
It never stops going and never stops taking.
Sick people, poor people, starving people.
They suffer day by day.
No one helping, nothing ending their pain.
The more time that passes,
the more pain they feel.
The days roll by taking lives taking dreams.
Nothing ending their pain.
