The Path

by enfant du tordu chagrin   Jul 5, 2006

Its killing me slowly, this unending wait
To learn how it ends, just what is my fate?
I'm on my path, but just where is it leading?
And why is it that I must keep bleeding?

One step forward, one step back
And I'm getting nowhere, imagine that
My path is marked, a crimson red trail
And I'm getting so tired, I fear I might fail

This weight bends my back, soon it'll break
I don't know my burden, this load I must take
With each step it grows, and soon I will fall
And still I don't know my last port of call

The road's getting darker, and so too am I
Tainted and wounded each time I try
I'm lost on the path, with no way to tell
Where am I going? I fear that it's hell.
