Oh, The Things That We Learn

by Kelsey   Jul 5, 2006

Oh the things that we feel as we walk through our years, ad we look back and swim in the lakes of our tears.
oh the things that we learn as we walk through our youth,
as we lose our first love,
as we lose our first tooth.
oh, we walk through our days, with our heads in the sand, how we look up and find we are holding a hand.
oh the things that we see as we look to the past how we always assumed that forever would last
we question decisions and analyze words of a time that is gone, that flew south with the birds.
we remember advise from a time so far back
and we see its a gift, its not an attack,
we envision the faces of people we knew wondering what with there lives did they do.
we look at old pictures, here songs we once sung we discover the beauty we missed being young, how we never were happy and never at ease. as we plunged into waters as deep as we pleased.
to discover that beauty is not what we thought it was there all along, it was not what we sought.
and we view out parents in a whole different light, though we always knew deep down inside they were right.
oh how they prepared us for oceans and streams, how they taught us to swim and to follow our dreams,
we look up from the water to see that we're there, and we open our doors to the people that care,
as we look back and swim in the lakes of our tears, oh, the things that we feel as we walk through our years!
