Can't you see?

by Lauren   Jul 8, 2006

If love was true,
It would be in families too,
Maybe for you,
But not for me,
Our lives are different-Can't you see?

Some days I feel like walking out,
I can't bear to listen to them shout,
Things are thrown,
Tears are shed,
It's always there in my head.

I hide in my room,
It should be over soon,
I drift off into sleep,
My dream starts to turn mean,
And I wake with a startled scream.

The clock strikes nine,
Is that the time?
I lay awake and listen...
Hushed voices speak nearby,
I let out a giant sigh.

They say it won't happen again,
But it will, it will all be the same game,
Why do they always lie?
Their memories fade away,
But mine stay,
We are all different-Can't you see?
