A friendship

by «™Bleeding Heart»   Jul 9, 2006

My best friend who was closer than a sister
we told each other everything
a friendship free of lies and secrets

we knew everything about each other
there was nothing we couldn't tell
our lives seemed so perfect
so young and innocent

inseparable is what we were
friends forever is what we said
nothing could come between
a friendship as perfect as this

through times of tears
and times of smiles
we were there for each other
no matter how good or bad

the fun things we did
and the memories we shared
going everywhere together
this was the life we shared

this soon all ended
hurtful things were said
things that I'll always regret

our friendship faded away
more and more each day
the trust was broken
only betrayal to remain

I'd lost the best friend i would ever have
i thought you had forgotten about me
i wanted you out of my life

whenever we spoke it only caused pain
my life without you had no meaning
nothing was ever the same

but the day has finally arrived
you have forgiven me for the hurt i caused

we'll never be the best friends we use to be
just having your friendship again
is more than i deserve
