Riding The Wind

by loretta Taylor   Jul 9, 2006

Serenity slips over me
A second skin
On my horse
Riding the wind

All the madness kept at bay
A glacial stream flowing away

Calmness encompasses me
A warm breathless sea

Soul tearing sadness leaves my day
Waterfalls rushing mud away

Happiness burst empty dreams
Musical gurgling streams

Solitutde shatters pain
A thunderstorm’s driven rain

Serenity slips over me
A second skin
On my horse
Riding the wind

I love this! I grew up a cowboy in Arizona then rode all the trails while working along the coastline in California. I know that magical feelling. Beautiful!

I think you repeated on my horse riding the wind too many times. I think you could combine weather patterns, incidents, whatever you want to call them, into less stanzas but bigger, and then you wouldn;t have to repeat yourself so much
