The Gallows

by Michael   Jul 12, 2006

The bell rings upon
Black horizon
The sky infinite darkness
My path lit by torches on stone walls
The executioner awaits in the distance
As I pass the bared cells I see the day Break light
Now I am at the guilotine The priest calls to me "May God save your sole"
If there is a God why has he forsaken me?
I stare to the sky
The crowd begins to rumble
The executioner prepares
I hear the blade's screech....
