Something She Can't See

Tears threaten to spill over
I struggle to keep them in
No one can know how I feel
Keeping my pain buried within
Tears are streaming down my face
Falling continuely from my eyes
Quickly I brush them away
All people can see are my lies
Somebody comes up from behind me
I force a smile on my face
I turn around slowly
Hiding my pain without a trace
I'm relieved when I recognize a friend
Maybe she will be able to help me
Then I realize that she won't be able to
For my pain is something she can't see
