Loneliness

by Silent   Jul 15, 2006

Loneliness haunts us
All of our lives
A measure of doubt
From all we survive

So find somewhere
In the loss and pain
What gives your heart
The will to remain

For each time
I close my eyes
Everything passes
Another time

I have no answers
Beyond the fear
Of loneliness
Leaving us here

And why do we think
We will ever escape
This endless play
That makes no mistakes

Feeding on our fears
Of all we have lost
And stealing our future
Of better thoughts

For I have been crushed
And will be again
But have seen the future
That only loneliness brings

And forever I will fight
Our greatest foe
So few of us
Chose to know

I can see this as a sad poem, but also one of defiance and hope.Very well written, much meaning.
