Soulless...

by Darkened Rose   Jul 17, 2006

What is the point please tell me this
How can you be blind?
Can you not see the problem here?
Just look and you will find

It's a disease, not fatal though
But it destroys your life
With it, your soul and all you have
All but your bloody knife

It can't be cured once it's caught
Not that you haven't tried
But all your efforts will not change
The fate behind these eyes

Do you know yet of what I speak
I'm pretty sure you don't
You try to guess but even then
The odds are that you won't

I guess I better tell you then
And then you'll have to leave
But you can't know just how it feels
When i can barely breathe

That day I knew something was wrong
If only I'd known what
And now he's dead and you all think
I'm something that I'm not

My sanity, the say, is gone
My soul, they say, the cost
But how can what you never had
Be something that you've lost?

I liked it and it was really well put... The stanza that stuck out for me was:

"My sanity, they say, is gone
My soul, they say, the cost
But how can what you never had
    Be something that you've lost?"

...You've never had be something that you lost? That right there is why I read, write and rate poems very deep at that point and it means something personal to me.

    Keep up the writing! 5/5

    Sincerely,
    Katlyn
