Lack of Sibling

by Kidpoetry   Feb 29, 2004

In 1985, my mother had daughter
Imagine her surprise when she finally broke her water
And although this little heathen, brought about much pain
My mother loved her dearly, and in her heart this left a stain
U see, my mother had no choice, but 2 give this child away
4 in her mind she worried bout, all the bills she could not pay
Times were tough, and she was still quite young
And in the balance of her decision, this child's life hung
So without thinking twice, she knew what best 2 do
With all the mistakes she's made, she didn't want this to be one 2
And so it was done, the paperwork filed
The daughter she bore, was 2 be someone else's child
The child was better off, to my mother's credit
And if possible, she'd repeat the same, that's how she said it
Two years later, she was pregnant once more
This time to a son she would grow to adore
She decided this time, she would do things right
No matter how hard it was, she was willing 2 fight
When 9 months rolled around, it was 2 weeks late
To make matters worse, it wasn't coming out straight
It's shoulders were crooked, cuz It was turned sideways
But she was determined, and to all it did amaze
She did it on her own, she needed no operation
And the baby was fine, after careful examination
That baby was me, and I'm proud 2 say
4 being on her own she did o.k.
But don't get me wrong, my father was there
He just didn't pitch in much, and that wasn't fair
So when i was 2, they got a divorce
And tough times did come, and in massive force
My mom started 2 worry, and so she was pressured
To marry my step-dad, who was wrongfully measured
Life wit him was unpleasant, and proceeded down hill
It was 12 long years, 4 my mom had the will
To get up the courage, 2 just kick him out
We're on our own now, and happier no doubt
The first year's a challenge, no question bout that
But my mom's main concern is how my grades r at MAT
As 4 my sis, we've not 4gotten bout her
I have 2 meet her once, that is 4 sure
We've made all of our info, 4 her easy 2 track
In case she finds out, and is willing 2 accept us back
My mom's always worried, that we may have an episode
Where we're on Jerry springer, and my sis is in fight mode
And she's all pissed off, and thinking bout payback
I keep saying your just paranoid, she ain't on that side of the track
But its out of our hands, its all up 2 GOD now
2 make events happen, and bring us all 2gether.......somehow
