Your Name

by Emma   Jul 18, 2006

I wrote a letter to you once,
It said everything I needed to say.
It was supposed to help me,
To help me get over you that day.
I put it in an envelope,
And sealed it with a kiss,
And wrote your name upon the front,
Hoping my feelings would go amiss.
3 months later and in my file it stays,
I darenâ??t touch it, but I stare,
I stare at your name wrote perfectly,
I stare at my love shown bare.
In my mind I read it,
And for a second I feel intact,
And then the feelings fading,
Youâ??re gone, and thatâ??s a fact.
Four letters that effect me,
Mysterious as they are,
I still hope one day Iâ??ll see you,
But for now I admire from afar.
Your name is now my own,
And at night it fills my ears,
It gives me sweetest memories,
And burns my eyes with tears.
