My Best Friend

by Carmen   Jul 20, 2006

Sharing toys and snacks
and playing on the swings
are some very fond memories,
the simplest things.

Now we're all grown up
and we've started to drift.
Let's patch this little
vacous rift.

I'm still the same shy girl
you used to know.
And you're still the funny boy
who unintentionally puts on a show.

Through laughter and tears
we've never left the other's side.
We'd knowingly roll in
like the sparkling tide.

Though times have changed,
we have not.
I'm thinking of you....
am I in your thoughts?
