My Little Dancers

by Carmen   Oct 28, 2010

I see their smiles in the mirror,
tired smiles.
Laces separate,
but the music keeps them moving.
When I hit pause
they freeze,
and try not to fall
in fits of laughter.
They mimic my steps
in the studio,
and when it's time,
I watch them shine
from behind velvet.
They attack me
with proud smiles.
