Here with Me

by Molly Elizabeth   Jul 20, 2006

Lying here in bed
in this dark empty room
no on lyes beside me
as I try and fall asleep.

The light from the stars outside
is barely shown through at all
and I stare at the ceiling
as it dims to it's pitch black surroundings.

But then... Your picture
Is visibly recognizable beside me.
You sleeping and dreaming
softly breathing as you cling to my waist.

Every now and then you pull me a little closer, hold me a little tighter.
As if to make sure I'm still their,
as If to keep me safe in your arms.

I stroke your hair and kiss your chest, your neck, your cheek, your lips... embracing each and every moment we have together.
Taking it all in...
Making the most of it,
realizing at any moment this could all end.

Slowly I make myself comfortable within your arms
and I whisper "Good night my love"
and even though
your deep in sleep...
sometimes I hear you whisper back, "I love you so much more!"
I smile to myself...
and then I drift asleep.. peacefully in your loving arms.

Dreaming of us, of being together... of being apart...
of our love, every kiss...
every precious moment we've shared... every fight
every time we've laugh
every time we've cried...
all we've shared...
together... you and I.

but at that...
i wake up, startled...
lonely,... sad...
realizing it was all a dream..
I'm still lying here in bed...
but your still not here with me...
