The Ghost that walks

by Tim   Jul 20, 2006

He walks endlessly through these desolate plains
Trying to forget the curses he's faced
They say he is the man who never sleeps, who cannot feel
He is just the ghost that walks.

No-one stops to think what he say to say, what he feels
The reasons why he walks are remained untold
Till this very moment where he reveals his soul
So listen to all he has to say for he's got a sorrowful story to tell.

He walks around the empty fields, the busy streets
But he never says a word
If you walked by him he wouldn't give a second look
But inside this man lies a darkened soul.

He walks to forget all his sins and all his pain
He made a vow to walk through smoldering sun
To walk through all the gloomy gloomy rain.

He walks to forget the lost love which burns deep in his soul
But no matter how far he walks he lies where his secrets remain untold
He has walked a thousand miles yet has gained no ground
He cannot outrun the horrific sound.

You see his life was close to perfection just a simple year ago
But he learnt the lesson of so many men
One moment can be the end of a lifetimes happiness, a lifetimes work and an eternity's love.

This man is the victim of all that has consumed this world
He remembers the night he lost it all
He remembers the screams the shouts
And finally that tainted sound.

BANG!!! Was all he heard as he pulled into the driveway
As the assailant briskly fleas the scene
He's in a state of shock followed by repulse as he enters the front door
Greeted by his worst fears, he stares into her lifeless eyes.

His wife laying, consumed by her crimson soul, her blood.
She has just one last moment, one last breath
On it she says, "I Love You, I Need You I am forever yours".
She slips into heavens grasp her soul slowly fading.

He just sits there in a ghastly haze, a shocked tear runs down his face
He takes the vow to walk the earth looking for his lost love, his lost soul
But he'll never leave those demons behind
No matter how hard he tries he knows he can never hide.
