Words Fail Me

by Cj Barritt   Jul 20, 2006

Many syllables run through my mind,
The sting of salt still lingers in my eyes,
The stiff lines remain on my cheeks where my tears have been,
Words fail me.
New responsibilities,
Losses of extreme altitude,
Remind me of my life,
And what its worth,
Words fail me.
No protection from the storm,
I am left,
Naked on the earth,
Words fail me.
A gentle hand,
Caresses my face,
The sun comes out,
And the word is right again,
Words fail me.
