My Love

by Brad Champagne   Jul 20, 2006

A love so strong, not strong enough
To keep you warm in my embrace.
I only hope it has the strength
To overcome the trials we face.

I work all day, you're out at night,
I have no time to travel far.
My mother doesn't like your way,
So our love falls a shooting star.

Perhaps if I were more a man
With a place and a life my own,
But money's tight, and though I try,
The space between us now has grown.

When time shall come we'll try again
Our hand at this ill-fated love,
And pray for better times to come
My only, precious, perfect love.
