Our Dire Fate

by Christie   Jul 21, 2006

High into the black night,
Fly ignited embers red,
Lapping at lush green above,
Now turning black instead.

Birds unable to begin flight,
Animals slowly stop and sway,
Destined to join this awful end,
Too weak to get away.

Cold wind carrying animals screams,
Distressed beyond compare,
Children stripped of their mothers,
Not knowing and unaware.

Hooves stamping ground packed tight,
Calm and strength devoid,
From our past, we shall suffer,
Our world forever destroyed.

Trees crack to the ground below,
Creeks slither by,
You thought you were exempt from this,
And now u ask why?

Crippling scenes; the world torn down,
Yet no-one can elucidate,
No arguing to be seen or heard,
You chose this dire fate.
