A Reason to Kill

by Nathaniel   Jul 21, 2006

I'm all alone
I've shaved my hair.
My skin is tight,
From the nights cold air.

I feel so tense
As the breeze hits my face.
I feel a rush
And my heart starts to race.

You see, I chose this life.
And I have no regret.
My life for your freedom,
I will never forget.

I'm standing here now,
In the heat of the fight.
A leader to my left,
And a brother to my right.

They went down standing,
For what they feel.
That "We the People"
Are words that are real.

I'm not a cruel man,
Just living to kill.
I've found a proud purpose,
And finish it, I will.

Not for my daughter
And not for my wife.
But for the men beside me,
Who gave us their life.
