Celestial tears

by Deana   Jul 22, 2006

I listened to the rain
One warm summer night
Beating lonely rhythms
Not wanting to see the light

A broken heart
for the loss of someone dear
nature bringing forth emotions
through her stream of celestial tears

as I closed my eyes to sleep
to that steady beating sound
I wondered if the sun was shining
on some distant other ground

If the lonely heart was searching
for the kindred spirit find
If that soul across the oceans
let nature speak upon the mind

I wondered how many lay listening
To this beating of the rain
If by some untold reasoning
My thoughts and theirs the same.
