Lost World

by enfant du tordu chagrin   Jul 22, 2006

Staring out my window, what do I see?
Except a world that's slowly passed by me
Life being lived, enjoyed and cherished
While instant by instant, mine has perished

Slowly waning each moment, fading alone
Trying and failing to find how to atone
For each of the ruins that I've left behind
Searching for peace that I just cannot find

Each moment that passes seems like years
And I find myself waking engulfed in tears
The world moving on before my eyes
And I'm always left just wondering "Why?"

How can you move on, yet I remain
Why must I constantly live in this pain?
These questions are left haunting my thoughts
Remaining, as I ponder the world I've lost
