A day thats good

by lexie   Jul 24, 2006

Finally,a day thats good,
haven't had one in such a long time,
the smile on my face has reappeared you know,
and the circles under my eyes are only slightly there,
my body is sore from all this work,
but thats alright with me,
i am starting to feel like i belong,
in this crazy place,
finally fitting in somewhere,
and it feels so wonderful,
even though hes no longer there,
by my side,holding my hand,
i am making it on my own,
the world is looking bright ahead,
not quite as good as it once was,
back home when live was okay,
where people said hello and smiled as i walked by,
and now no one knows me,
even though this was once my home,
what a complex story i have to tell,
but I'll save that for another day,
because today,
is a good day.

Sorry but I need to comment this honestly:
    Finally,a day thats good,
haven't had one in such a long time,
the smile on my face has reappeared you know,
[Ignoring the grammar issues. How do we know abou tthe smile just becaus eyou told us. When you say, "Finally a good day." we can tell that it hasn't been one in a long time]
and the circles under my eyes are only slightly there,
[We know circles under the eyes mean tired. Why put under my eyes if we can already guess]
As a narrative it's pretty alright, could have been more decent, but as a poem I feel as if it explains too much of things we can already know.

Beautifully done. I love the upbeat tone this has despite the sadness behind. Hope you have more good days.
