Inner Corpse

by Jennifer Dziak   Jul 25, 2006

She waits in insecurity,
Wanting to hear his voice.
Holding him one last time,
She lets go without a choice.

The tears stream down her face,
Months later, still she cries.
All she wants right now,
Is to look into his eyes.

She hides her pain away
Breaks down only when she should.
Knowing they'll never understand
Quite the way he could.

She sits silent in darkness,
The light burns her eyes.
Only seeing the flicker
Of a faint candle light.

Her heart's been broken before.
And he rescued her from pain
Bur who can save her now?
When he is the one to blame.

She loves only a few,
She trusts almost no one.
But, she loves and trusts him..
Her ties now become undone.

She's completely alone now,
Might have been all along.
All she truely knows,
Is who she needed is now gone.

She begged him not to leave,
He swore it was just short time.
But if one can die of heartbreak,
She's dead already, inside.
