Green and gold forever

by abby   Jul 27, 2006

Living my life
it was my world

playing laser light tag on campus
during the monthly sleepovers

cheering out loud
for the green and the gold

playing dodge ball
while trying not to fall

walking in between classes
saying hey to all my friends

little did i know
how soon that all would end

sprinting thru the courtyard
knowing eighth graders only
still trying our luck
the seventh grade area was lonely

going to practice after school
running if we were late

opening our lockers to falling books
screaming \"who opened the gate?!\"

giggling to each other
sitting at our lunch tables

drinking sour slushies
trying to remain stable

taking dares to talk to cute boys
daring to boys to do stupid things

playing in our gym clothes
in puddles after the rain

running the mile
more like walking it for us three

racing my peers on the turf track
remembering now that i never looked back

thinking back on it now
its all just a dream

a simple little thought
stuck in my memory

knowing deep inside saying goodbye i could never

because burnt into my mind
green and gold are forever
