Maiden Veil (Monody)

by XXTruthSeekerXX   Jul 28, 2006

O, fair darling of the open seas
Come pure jewel, art with thee
I cry for thee but thou dost not hear
The pleading words in which I tear

My joy hath forsaken my plea
The waters had you stripped from me
Now I must thole in raging white storms
Whither do I cast my handful of mourns

It hath been such a sudden distraught
When ways of the dead hath been taught
A little joy here shalt rise to sorrow
Then no fair maiden will come tomorrow
