Goodbye

Saying goodbye is the hardest thing I have had to do
Watching you through the cancer and watching you suffer
Knowing one day youâ??d give up and stop fighting the disease
Wanting to stay but wanting you to stop hurting
Sadness taking over you life as you got sicker

These last few years have been rough and painful
Knowing and understanding what you were going through
The pain the struggle to fight a hard battle
Knowing one day you wouldnâ??t make it

The day you left us in body and soul
I cried myself to sleep afraid of the future
My life about to change into something scary
Something I feared about in my dreams

My one companion leaving me to go off on my own
No one to guide me to the right path the right road
Not knowing if I could live without the companionship of you
Could I go on knowing you were gone?
Knowing I couldnâ??t come to you with my hurts and stories

I had to start from a new slate clean and brand new
Youâ??re in my mind but not in my life
Ill miss you but will always think of you
