Forsaken

by Paggles   Jul 29, 2006

What solemn breeze hath blown ashore?
Too weak to whisk these battered sails.
Where restless winds of nevermore,
drift briskly - mocking dream's entrails.

Where rising waves of hunger crashed
between two souls who joyous wept.
Now sunk beneath the oceans wrath,
residing in her silent depth.

Where passions lapped the silken seas.
Sweet melodies, bestowed with Grace,
did quench tormented miseries,
while easing sorrows held in place.

Tis all but heartache's memories -
as echoed whispers drown by tears,
do fall upon this silent breeze,
beseeching thee, his plea to hear.

For once two lives could conquer all,
Yet found they were mistaken.
Now solitude doth form his brow,
his destiny - forsaken.

Wow. I adored this poem. The language is not often found on here and is so rich. I loved the sea imagery and the ending was wonderful
