Believing In Fake Love

by BrokenHeartAttack   Jul 31, 2006

You once told me I had beautiful eyes,
but I bet that was just another one of your lies.
When you told me you loved me I believed it was true,
though I know it was fake, I still love you too.
I believe it was fate that brought us together,
and lifted my heart, like a weightless feather,
but now we're done, and you're long gone,
and I try to stick with my friends to not feel so alone,
but deep inside that feeling remains.
The feeling I fear most, the one to leave stains,
loneliness, it's what I'm feeling now.
I hate it, despise it, but fear most of all.
I wish you felt the feelings I have inside for you.
I wish I could say "I love you" knowing you'd say "I love you too",
but since I know you don't love me, I won't even try.
Instead I will just sit here and watch my heart die.

BEAUTIFUL piece of poetry. I'm usually one for leaving deep, thought-out comments, but I'm pretty much at a loss for words right now, but I'll do my best.

I loved how you ripped the hearts of your audience out in the first line with an emotion-filled "you told me..." and it sets up for the rest of the poem nicely. You kept this mood up throughout the poem, with wors like 'stains' and 'despise' and 'die'. Lovely work.

    5/5

    As always~ Kate
