I Was Only Eleven

by unnoticedXlove   Jul 31, 2006

I was only eleven,
when you passed away,
you left me with memories,
but one still haunts me to this day.

The memory of that one day,
when i came to visit you in the hospital,
sitting there watching you struggle for a simple breath,
while others waited around you for a response.
tears streaming down their faces.
As my mom looked at me,
and told me to hold you hand.
I was scarred, I didn't know what to do.

I was only eleven,
as i slowly watched you die,
with every breath i could feel you slipping away,
your touch so cold.
I couldn't take it anymore, I broke down in tears,
then i softly said a prayer in your ear.
I hoped that GOD would take you away,
so you didn't have to stay,
I just couldn't bear seeing you this way.
It broke my heart, my mom noticed me,
she made me leave, but before i left,
I gave you just one last kiss and whispered "I love you,"
and walked away,
that was the last time I saw you,
until you funeral day.
I was only eleven, when GOD took my best friend away.

::dedicated to my grandma, my best friend.::

That is a special, and very sad poem. I know that you are angry, I have lost loved ones too, but God doesn't take people from us, he merely picks them up after their work is done.
