Time Is Apathetic, Death is a stop

by Franklin James   Aug 1, 2006

Tick... Tick.... Tick...
Forgotten pieces of my life
lay before a broken clock
for time is apathy it does not care
and all the while it moves forever on.
Yet all the while through there are ripples in the universal loop that is time
a moment in which all time stops
death
wretched motions kicking
or perhaps peaceful while in bed
in comatose lying unaware
in the car without a seat buckle.
Time knows not the circumstance
only moments, milliseconds, hours, days
and any other random stretch of itself.
It also doesn't care it travels on only to
ripple like a rock breaking a still pond.
Then settles, the death recorded in that millisecond moves further along.
Perhaps to be remembered forever...
Then again is anyone really remembered forever, time is the only one who knows and just like it began it ends but not time.
Time is apathetic, a ripple fades,
the water is still, death stops
yet time moves forward
Tick... Tick.... Tick...

I like it.. A lot.. It's deep and honest and powerful. Everything I wish I could write in a poem. Very good especially for writing it in two minutes..
