Sarah

by emma   Mar 4, 2004

Her name is Sarah
She is but three,
Her eyes are swollen
She cannot see,

She though she was stupid
She though she was bad,

What else could have made
Her daddy so mad?

She wish she were better
She wish she weren't ugly,

Then maybe her mummy
Would still want to hug her.

She can't speak
She can't do a wrong
Or else she's locked up
All day long.

When she's awake she's all alone
The house is dark
Her folks aren't home

When her mummy does come
She'll try and be nice,
So maybe she'll get just
One whipping tonight.

Don't make a sound!
She just heard a car
Her daddy is back
From Charlie's Bar.

She hears him curse
Her name he calls
She presses herself
Against the hard wall

She tries to hide
From his evil eyes
Shes so afraid now
Shes starting to cry

He finds her weeping
He shouts ugly words,
He says its her fault
That he suffers at work.

He slaps her and hits her
And yells at her more,
She finally get free
And runs for the door.

Hes already locked it
And she start to bawl,
He takes her and throws her
Against the hard wall.

She fall to the floor
With her bones nearly broken,
And her daddy continues
With more bad words spoken.

"I'm sorry!", she screams
But its now much too late
His face has been twisted
Into unimaginable hate

The hurt and the pain
Again and again
Oh please God, have mercy!
Oh please let it end!

And he finally stops
And heads for the door,
While she lay there motionless
Sprawled on the floor

Her name is Sarah
She is but but three,
Tonight her daddy
Murdered her.

>>There are thousands of kids out there just like Sarah. And you can help stop that kind of thing happening, like it happened to my friend. please tell me what you think of my poem it means a lot to me.thanks.
