Me

by Truest Lies   Aug 4, 2006

No alphabet can tell you,
Who I am,
Nothing but a touch,
Of this hand.

My lying eyes,
Make up more stories,
That you add to the pages,
Of the book you attempt to write
About me.

But you can't,
Don't you see?
For I am an actress,
And I don't let my guard down enough,
For anyone to see inside me.

If there was ink that could hold me,
If there was an author,
Who could write me down,
Well then I'd read his book forever,
He'd be the king of personality,
He'd wear a gilded crown.

No, there are no words left,
I have searched in vain.
There is no alphabet left,
To tell you who I am.

Now we must rely on touch,
On expression,
A progression through my life,
Now I must show you the truth...
And that cannot be shown
In mere words.

*sorry, just my insane ramblings.

Wow. I liked it. Insane ramblings maybe, but it was a wonderful poem. I really like your poems. This one wasn't as long as others of yours but the flow and wording was great.
