Midnight Train

by Katt   Aug 5, 2006

I ride the midnight train
In the pouring rain
I think about calling out your name
As I see you pass by
The moment passes too
And inside I cry
I play that moment back over in my head
Of the conversation we could of had
I sigh and instead watch the scenery pass by through the window
The memories we had
The memories we could of had play over in my head
Over and over again
I must find you again my old friend
I walk through the train calling out your name
But the train comes to a halt and all the passengers get out
I'm left out in the midnight rain calling out your name
Feeling so abandoned and alone
I missed the next cab
Left out alone in the pouring rain
In my head still calling your name
No one notices as a tear falls and joins the puddle on the ground of fallen tears and rain
Wondering why I didn't call out your name in the first place
Just another one of my stupid mistakes
I enter the cab and it drives away
Away from the rain
Away from where we could have met but didn't.
