Dream

by Aaron L   Mar 5, 2004

Sick of all the torment, and life's cruel themes,
I've lost the meaning of life.
Stuck forever, in my dreams,
My heart is crushed, inside is where it bleeds.
It's come to this, or so it seems,
The last straw, the final blow.
The time has come, I must go.
Follow in my footsteps you will not,
For you have no reason to,
Look now, at what you've got.
In the end I will regret it, sure.
But right now it seems worth it,
The pain feels oh, so pure.
As I draw this picture on my wrist,
As I clench the razor in my fist,
As I say goodbye to you all,
Everything blurs, and starts to fall.
No more pretending to stand tall,
It's finally done. The blood, it tastes so sweet.
The painting of my life, is finally complete.
The burden has been lifted from me,
I finally get my wish, to be completely free,
Free of all the torment, and life's cruel themes.
Finally away from all I didn't want to be.
The breath comes back to me,
I wipe the tears from my eyes, I can see,
That now -- it seems -- all this
Was just a dream.
